So as to improve the language competence of lower grade students, on the afternoon of 6th December, at the merging classroom, the Chinese Department of Anqing Foreign Language School’s Primary Section held a storytelling competition in lower grade group. After the selection in each class, 14 students participated in the contest.
During the competition, contestants performed vividly with good grace and the story contents were abundant and entertaining, for instance, ‘Caterpillars Trying to Find Their Mother’, ‘Six Feet Lane’ and ‘Clever Little Turtle’. Besides, these amusing stories made children learn many truths and feel pleasure in the meantime.
Overall, this storytelling competition not only established a training platform for kids who were timid and dared not speak, but also equipped them with more confidence in addition to encouraging them to speak up and gain positive energy from these stories.
